Tyler Burmeister began playing the trumpet in 4thgrade and continued with the trumpet as his primary instrument all the way through high school.  He attended Northern Michigan University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 2008.  While at N.M.U. he performed on trumpet with the Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, University Orchestra, and various other chamber ensembles.

Tyler began playing cornet with Milwaukee Festival Brass during the 2012-13 season.  Being a multi-instrumentalist, Tyler has helped to fill out different sections of the band by playing cornet, flugelhorn, baritone horn, and euphonium. He is currently serving as principal baritone horn for the 2018-19 season.  Tyler has also served as the band’s assistant director from 2015 to 2018.

Tyler currently teaches 5th to 8th  grade band at three different elementary schools for the Wauwatosa School District.  In addition to teaching full time, he is currently enrolled in the M.B.A. in Educational Leadership program at M.S.O.E. and is set to graduate this May.  He lives in West Allis with his wife Stephanie, and two children, Braeden (8) and Mckenzie (5).  Tyler would like to thank all of his family members and former music teachers for their support and encouragement of all his musical endeavours.
