Welcome to Milwaukee Festival Brass!

The Milwaukee Festival Brass is a 30 piece all brass ensemble using the traditional British Brass Band formation and sound. The Band was formed in 1985 and features some of the area’s most capable brass players, teachers and students as its members. Today, under the leadership of Dr. Patricia Backhaus, the Band performs regularly throughout the Milwaukee metro area and runs a six concert season.

The Band is a state of Wisconsin registered 501(C)3 non-profit organization as well as a 509(A)2 Public Charity and is run by a member elected Board of Directors.

Mission Statement

The Milwaukee Festival Brass is dedicated to developing and maintaining a successful brass band of the highest possible musical quality. As a nationally recognized organization, we will strive to satisfy the musical ideals of our members while simultaneously nurturing audience awareness and developing community support.
